Kerry M. Broman, LCSW is a Regulatory Analyst/ Paralegal for Robert A. Lees and Associates, advising on regulatory and ethical mental health issues for mental health providers practicing in the State of Colorado. Kerry joined Robert A. Lees & Associates May 2017.

Kerry M. Broman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice. Kerry has been treating individuals, couples and families in Colorado since 1999. Kerry has worked in public and parochial school settings as well as adolescent day treatment and residential treatment facilities prior to starting her private practice.

Just before coming to the law firm, Kerry spent 5 years at Metropolitan State University of Denver in the Graduate Social Work program as an Affiliate Faculty Member (2011- 2017). Her courses included Direct Practice, Evidence Based Practice in Mental Health, and Field Seminar. As a Field Seminar instructor she also served as a faculty field liaison to her students, visiting their field placements throughout the academic year.

Kerry is also the former President of Colorado Society for Clinical Social Work (CSCSW). CSCSW is a collegial association that advances the profession by providing opportunities for education, setting practice standards, promoting public recognition of the profession and advocating for protection of clinical social workers and their clientele. Kerry served two terms as president for CSCSW from 2010-2014. She has held numerous positions on the CSCSW board since 2008. Kerry was awarded the Most Distinguished Clinician Award from CSCSW in 2013.

In 2003, Kerry Broman began operating a private practice in the Denver Tech Center, where she specializes in the treatment of adolescents and their families. Her practice focused on reducing family conflict and treating a variety of adolescent issues, including but not limited to academic challenges, depression and anxiety, divorce, family conflict, self-esteem, substance use and suicidality. Kerry has a unique expertise in working with self-harming behaviors and regularly provides education and training to school counselors and other treatment providers to increase their success in identifying and supporting students struggling with self-harm. Kerry has been providing formal presentations and training on treating self-harming behaviors in adolescents since 2010. She has also presented on working with high risk youth, assessing and treating domestic violence, and tips for starting a private practice.

Kerry holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Film Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1998), a Master of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work (2001) and a Post Masters certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute (2003).

Kerry is thrilled that her role with Robert A. Lees and Associates allows her to continue working with people in the clinical community and supporting others through a tough time, be that the learning curve of starting a private practice or facing grievances or other sanctions from DORA. Kerry brings her years of personal experience in the mental health field to this position as Regulatory Analyst and Paralegal.
