Robert A. Lees & Associates schedules numerous informational seminars each quarter for counselors, therapists, and medical providers, including doctors and dentists. The firm also provides for continuing education units (CEU’s) for mental health professionals.
The firm advises its professional clientele in regulatory proceedings before the state boards and advises its clients in regulatory compliance, employment law, nonprofit, and preventative law, including employment contracts, asset protection, and nonprofit risk management.
Robert A. Lees assists the Colorado Legislature on drafting new laws, testifying for the benefit of his clientele, assisting state grievance boards in regulatory considerations, and for sunset review.
State Grievance Boards
Robert A. Lees was appointed by Governor Bill Owens to the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors in Colorado and completed that appointment in December 2006.
The following is an excerpt from an official letter written to Mr. Lees October 2006 by Governor Bill Owens in which Governor Owens expresses his appreciation for the services that Robert A. Lees rendered during his tenure on the State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners:

Defense Against a Grievance
Robert A. Lees has extensively reviewed and analyzed a variety of issues in hundreds of grievances while serving on the Licensed Professional Counselors Board. He not only represents counselors and therapists to the State Grievance Boards of the Department of Regulatory Agencies, but he is also part of a highly specialized team working together to educate counselors (religious and secular) and therapists (registered and licensed) on preventing grievances and risk management protocols.
